Welcome to Colorado National Monument!
Pit Stop In Colorado National Monument
On our way back home from a trip to Denver, we stayed the night at a hotel in Grand Junction. The next morning before committing to the rest of the drive home to Utah, we decided to stop at this monument.
When we got to the check in building to get access to the monument we were shaking our heads at our past selves for only getting the Zion yearly membership and all the National Parks membership. The lady at the window where you check into the monument told us to keep an eye out for Big Horn Sheep, but we didn't see any at all! We were jokingly cursing that lady for getting our hopes up. We didn't go on any hikes, just drove through the it slow and stopped at a scenic overlook.
Keep an eye out for Big Horn Sheep!
While looking out over the monument and taking some pictures we did see a big bird fly close to the edge of the cliff in front of us and then gracefully glide away. That was super cool and I got a video of it on my camcorder.

Recognized! (Casa Bonita)
after we had been looking over the scenic outlook for a while, a couple of older people came to look as well. After exchanging plesantries, one of the older guys pointed out the hats we were wearing and asked us how we know Casa Bonita.
We told him that we had just visited it the day before and that the creators of South Park brought it back (we still have never seen that episode, or any south park). Him and the woman he were with were excited and told us how they remembered visiting it in the early 2000s and they want to go again, so we let them know about how you have to sign up for the waitlist and hope for a spot to open up.
